I don't really have the equipment for planetary imaging and this is only my 2nd ever attempt at imaging Mars. I'm pretty pleased that I managed t get some detail. And I quite like the way it's small and floating in the blackness of space!

Best 100 of 1500 frames taken through a 200mm F/4 Newtonian with a Tele Vue 5x Powermate. Camera is an Opticstar PL-130M. Processing ...... Read More

This was taken last weekend in average conditions with my CPC-1100 @f15 and Philips 840K with a Baader Moon and Sky Glow Filter. Processed with Registax 5 and tinkered with several others.

seeing as i already processed 13 Mars images for my animation, i thought i might as well do something with them, a slight colour change, and a bit of tweaking later.

Last night it rained. So, instead of capturing Mars, I decided to sit down and rationalise my workflow on Mars. This image was taken at 22:00 on Feb 1st under good seeing conditions...

Reasonably good seeing last night but the transparency was variable. An interesting feature in the north polar cap was plainly visible under these conditions.

I had a go at Mars at the Weekend, well who did not, with all those clears sky we were blesses with. Not to sure about the colour, it looked all right on the other computer.
