Another optical counterpart to a radio galactic supernova remnant. This time in OIII. I did a few test shots in Ha and OIII and the OIII seemed to look more interesting, so came back for a long integration 22x1500s.

I can't find any references or documentation to confirm this optical counterpart, but it is certainly in the exact same place as the radio remnant.

Struggling to find the optimal way to present these low contrast shots. Negative certainly seems to be the way, but the fine detail seems to suffer. Open to suggestions on that one!

That looks interesting.
Have you tried colour contours - or what's it called ?

Now that different,   These isn't a lot out there if you Google images of this.   well done Tom.     What on earth made you go for this ?

Rog,

P.s can you post the non inverted image up ?

Hi Rog

I've been working through a few supernova remnants in the spirit of simply seeing what's there. http://astro.neutral.org/supernova/supernova-remnant-images.html

After some dialog with proper grown-up astronomers, this turns out to be a previous unrecorded optical remnant - so that's rather fun :)

Not sure I have a non-inverted version - it is so faint it is almost impossible to see without the invert.
