Rosette Nebula My First HaRGB Image
« on: 15:04:25, 13 February, 2018 »
Over the last couple of nights I managed to grab some Ha and RGB data between the clouds.  I have not attempted a HaRGB previously (preferring to stick with NB), but wanted to experiment while the moon is out of the way.

Details:
Ha 3.5nm 1 hour 40 mins in 20 min chunks Bin x1
RGB 1 hour per channel all in 5 minutes chunks Bin x2.

Captured, Guided (Dithered) and Calibrated with Maxim DL. Processed in PS3CSE 40% blend of Ha with RGB. Equipment Listed below. First outing for my new Ha 3.5nm filter and EFW3.

As a rising moon and increasingly brighter moon is only days away, I shall try for a S2/Ha/O3 version - clouds permitting!

The attached is about a quarter of the size of the original and I don't think the compression does the image any favours as viewing the original at 100% on a large screen certainly improves the presentation.

As usual C&C welcome CS Jim

I like that Jim... the colours aren't as heavy as you sometimes see with this object....

Thanks Phil, with relatively little data I did not want to push the stretching too hard. That said looking forward to gathering enough NB to form a half decent image. CS Jim
