NGC 2264
« on: 21:55:25, 13 February, 2018 »
Date: 31 January, 06 & 10 February 2018
Equipment: SXV-H9, Vixen 114mm f5.3 ED refractor, NEQ6 mount, guiding with Lodestar X2/PHD
Subframes: 70 x 300s H-alpha, no darks (hot pixel removal in Astroart instead).

I managed to get some blue and green subframes on Feb 11th (20 X 300s for each) to add to the above for an RGB version.  All images acquired and preprocessed in Astroart, with colour composition and general tarting-up in PaintShop Pro

Thanks for looking.  More of my stuff at https://hallingskies.blogspot.co.uk/ if anyone is interested...

Phil:  My SXV-H9 is coming up for 15 years old.  It has been a good old workhorse but is getting bit noisy. If I do change it it'll probably be for the 825.  Must admit, there's a lot to be said for mono - it's much easier to get fair results.

yep.. I hear you... I had a mono H9 for about 6 yrs.... before I went for the SXVR-H16.... which I still consider THE best all round camera.... if you ever get a chance... get one... it's in between the various sizes... not big enough to have to wory about FULL flat frames... a SUPER download speed... and, unlike most at the moment... a square chip, which has ,more advantages than you'll realise!
