Kelling Images - my first real astro imaging session
« on: 21:34:39, 18 September, 2012 »
Hi all, this years kelling was my very first attempt at imaging the night sky in earnest. I am very very happy with my results. Thanks to Phil and Dave for their encouragement. Thanks, Andy

 :scare:  :surprise:

Andy... as these are your 1st images, I am so pleased you managed to get everything to work...  I know you & Dave Eagle had HUGE issues getting CAA to talk with the EQ6 mounts.... and we STILL have no idea what transpired.... it is what I am now calling the "Kelling Effect" or "Kelling Triangle"!

Really pleased for you matey.... they have been a long time coming but worth the wait.

What are the details of your setup & processing?

Phil

Cheers Phil,

equipment was NEQ6 Mout, Canon EOAS 7D camera, with a 100-400 L Series lens set at 300 & 350mm

Only tweaked the colour using ACDSee as not too good with the stacking stuff as yet, and for the star trail, that was 15 x 30 second images added together using StarStax

  • Making equipment is far more fun than buying it.

Outstanding: Looks like you've got a lot of things figured out properly.

Wonderful range of shots, I particularly like the 7000
