Kelling Heath - Next Year Booking Arrangements
« on: 14:22:01, 16 April, 2017 »
Hi all..

Following the confusions over the past few years, I emailed Kelling to ask for the official line on booking pitches for the next year star parties.

This was sent by Caroline Wickham who is the Reception, Reservations & Retail Manager at Kelling Heath :

To standardise the booking procedures for both the Spring and Autumn events, the organisers of both events and Kelling Heath management have agreed the following procedure’s –

For either event you can only book by telephone up to a year in advance after the current event. For example the next Spring Star Party is from Thursday 12th April to Thursday 19th April 2018, you will only be able to book by telephone for the Spring 2018 star party from Monday 24th April 2017 (Main event day being Sat 14th April).

However you can book in person for Spring 2018 from Wednesday 19th April 2017 but only for your own pitch not others. This is to give a preference to those that are loyal to the event whom frequently stay for an extended period and then find their favoured pitch has been booked up by someone by phone in advance just for the weekend.

Thats makes more sense (to me) and should stop the pitch hopping that has been going on. Bit of a bug%^r for those that were victims at the last Autumn event as getting back in the loop again could be tricky and there were quite a few.

Well... Kelling have done it again....

Apparently, the troops have interpreted "but only for your own pitch not others" as you can book only for yourself but ANY pitch....

o well....  one step in the right direction is better than a step backwards...
