IC 63 - the cosmic ghost
« on: 13:48:07, 08 October, 2017 »
Finally took the time to process this 3 night project.
Was going to add Ha too but it was not meant to be.
Anyway this is now 40 x 5 min L and 45 x 4 min RGB taken with C8 @ 1285mm and SXV-694.
I added even some pseudo lum from RGB.

Thanks Phil.
In fact I had to to processing twice because at some point in first process I realised that I had something odd in colour channels - like trailing in red channel and black points beside stars in blue channel.
I reasoned that some point I had misaligned colour channels so had to start from beginning.

I do preprocessing in AstroArt. Colour align/combine too (this is where I suspect the error happens as AA can't rotate channels automatically).
Then I register master lights from different nights in Regim and also do gradient removal and B-V Color Calibration (which is really nice)
Final processing in PS (with Noels AstroTools).
Didn't do much final smoothing in PS as I thought the data was good enough without (and was tired after doing everything second time).
