Title: M33 Re- Pro
Post by: Roger B on 15:55:08, 23 December, 2017
with all this cloud around I thought I'd have a play with the M33 I took in October.

A better Ro-do for a more natural look

17x900 L
12x600 RGB
8x900 Ha

Yeah i noticed that later in the processing.  Unsure whats caused it.  Ill have a look at the rgb combo.

Nice image Roger and certainly one worth looking at the star colour/alignment issue to improve it further. Atb Jim

Hmm,

I've had another look at this today,  It seems that the RGB is ok but when adding the Ha it's not matching up properly and get this weird stars.    I have re aligned the Ha,L,R,G, & B but still makes no difference.

I'm combining the RGB for the colour (What looks ok) and when ready for the Ha, I'm splitting the channels and then combining the Green & Blue with the Ha.   Ha,G,B.  This is a decent way to combine them ?

Rog,

I'm no good with RGB but, wouldn't you be better combining the Ha with the R (some pixel math) then adding this to G and B ..........(HA+R)+G+B

I tried that mark,  although the Ha seems to blend better I seem to loose a lot in the Ha.       I've now given up.
Times like this when your skills at processing are pushed to the limit & sometimes beyond I wonder why I do this hobby.   ( If you have the data but cannot process it,  why bother )

Cheers anyway.

Keep at it mate  :big_clap: stick the subs on dropbox  :pirate:
If it's any consolation, I've been trying to image since 20:00 tonight and have been plagued with all sorts of problems. I guess this hobby needs lots of patience..........and lots of beer  :big_clap:

Looks great Roger, think I will have another go at M33 myself - need some Ha first.

Besides the small alignment issue, the image is great, i like the colour much better than the previous version
