Solar Feature Position Calculator
« on: 09:25:05, 25 August, 2006 »
Some kindly soul on another forum has posted this up... Very useful for working out feature positions

http://members.csolutions.net/fisherka/astronote/astromath/spfp/SolPnLatCalc.html

The PR reads..

"
This is to announce an experimental online calculator to estimate the solar or planetcentric geographic longitude and latitude of features like sunspots or craters.

It is intended to be used by amateurs with solar sketches or astrophotos how want to estimate the latitude and longitude of uncertain features for later lookup in a gazetter. At best, the calculator has a low precision of around 0-10 degrees.

"

Great stuff, and I hope some of us will be able to use it!
