« on: 20:35:04, 22 January, 2007 »
Sorry, I just realized I didn't mention the December issue of the e-magazine to this group. It'll be available as a free download until the end of this month (Jan 2007) and the next issue will be out in February.

December 2006 edition (Volume 2, Issue 4)

In this issue you'll find:
  • Color Management Part 1 by R Scott Ireland
  • As The World Turns - Guided Imaging Part 2 by David Sandage
  • A Simple and Robust Piggyback Guider by Chris Peterson
  • First Look at the TeleVue "is" Series by Jim Burnell
  • Finding the Unknown, Even in Light-Polluted Skies
  • Amateur Science - Getting Started in Photometry Part 2 by Tom Krajci
  • Vignette Correction without Flat Fields by Blair McDonald
  • Vista Ready?

Great, already downloaded it, after a recommendation in another group :D

Actually I missed a couple Al, any chance of back issues?

Back issue are available for purchase and download (to help manage the server and bandwidth costs) so I encourage everyone interested in the magazine to sign up for the News and Announcements when downloading the current issue. That way you'll always be alerted to a new issue which historically has been free because the issue is sponsored.

Clear skies (sorry, I forgot... this is the UK   :D )

Thanks for the info, Al.

The magazine also seems to be sponsored by Adirondak Video Astronomy AKA www.astrovid.com from whome I recently saved £50 from UK prices for a Baader MPCC and Astronomik 2" CLS filter, even after paying import duties. (Items sent US parcel post via Royal Mail and not rip of UPS or Fedex).

Hi Mike,

Glad to hear that you saved money with Adirondak. The December 2006 issue is also sponsored by Tele Vue and New Astronomy Press. As long as I can continue to get sponsors, I can afford to keep the current issue free. So tell your favorite vendor/dealer to contact me about sponsorship. It's a win-win for everyone.
