:harhar:

No time limit Mo, this is no speed trial. ;)

Matter of fact, I may leave all the challenges open for as long as Rob can host the files. I'll probably open another one next week from one of the submissions already, erm, submitted.

hi all,

lots of good processing ideas and tips on here. this one was processed in maximdl with deconvolution then colour combined in cs2 and lumenescence channel added.

regards

the deconvolution did seem to tame alnitak a bit. it used the settings below. no doubt someone who knew what they were doing would be able to get a great deal more out of it.

 Very nice Mike!  :)

Did the deconvolution reduce the size of Alnitak or was that a separate process?

Btw Jeff, my wife insists I have many other parts made of steel...  which is why they're always rusty.  :o

Hmmm... you are really Clark Kent and I claim my $10 dollars. :D
BTW, Daniel, can you give me your thoughts on my latest lunar image? http://ukastroimaging.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=30540.0

Here's my attempt:

Steps:
-Curves adjustments and levels
-Space noise reduction (Noel's tools)
-Smart sharpen
-Minimise stars (Noel's tools)
-Healing brush to remove hot pixels
-Local contrast enhancement (Noel's tools)
-Final increase in saturation and curve adjusments

Well when you get pictures like mine, you have to be reasonably good at post-processing to end up with anything worth posting  ;)
