Thanks for all the information given. Much appreciated.

The antenna is on order (to be delivered Tuesday...) and Maplins apparently have the other few bits I need.

If all goes to plan, I should be able to try it out on Wednesday/Thursday.

I've found the IMO articles much more user-friendly (as well as those linked to at Spaceweather.com). Some of the BAA documents I was given have been a bit dry and overly technical.
