Supply of ERF filters?
« on: 12:14:51, 09 September, 2009 »
Okay this one has come up again..

Where are you guys getting the ERF's from...?

As

1: It appears that the Baader importer for the UK won't supply them...I know this first hand and also via other people saying the same

2: Baader in Germany refuse to supply most people directly and insist you go via the UK importer....Catch 22...

Silly really as it's business/money for dealers...what you do with an ERF is your own business...and it NOT a litigation issue...if you cook your scope/eyes due to your own incompetence, it's your fault, not the supplier

Just curious as to what the situation is

Nick are you allowed to state the name of the Baader importer for the UK?

Nick,
I originally tried to buy my D-ERF from Baader but, as you say, they won't sell to us as they like to support their dealer network. In my case, the UK dealer was still selling them, albeit with a markup of >30%...yes, unbelievable I know!!
So, I sent an e-mail to Patrick in Telescope Service and he had no problem in selling one to me at the exact same price as what Baader sells them for in Germany.
Michael.
Regards,
Michael

I, generally, do not entertain cryptic clues but I will make an exception and 'suggest' something in the middle that one may project a large image upon..

Not to hijack the thread, but on a similar note...why does the meade importer sell the 1209 focuser for £25 more than warehouse express? Odd innit?  john
Woe unto him ..or her..who tries to guide the LX90. Let him..or her..rejoice in a lightweight scope upon the mighty EQ6. Mind you,I'd sooner be looking through my 6"f8 while the clouds look down the 8"f4 Le marchant configuration. And there should be a constellation called 'Camelot' and I would worship it in the anticipation of a big lottery win. Maybe I'll move to the Isle of Man..damn these drug
