Shame it wont connect to the camera canon 20Da   it says it has it then drops the connection straight away. stating camera disconnected communication problem   i am using Windows 7  i am connecting with a USB2 lead which sees the camera but will not allow connection to the camera   will the serial lead option work or is windows 7 lack of driver going to be a major issue.

Hello Grahame,

A user with 20Da told me that there is no problem make a connection using latest Canon EOS 20Da USB WIA Driver 6.0.0a for Windows Vista under Windows 7. The real shame is that there is no way to use 20Da's LiveView on PC :(

Ivo

Definitely bad news :( Tried some searches and found this

http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0200104504.html

Canon is abandoning the astro-photo classic models :( It looks like 32bit machines will become increasingly popular in the time if we want to use older models.

Hi Ivo, great improvements so far, just started using the latest (free) version

Would it be possible to be able to zoom in on the preview image, like you can in LV mode but after you have taken a shot on the downloaded preview? this would help to be able to zoom in on a star when focusing using a batinov mask?  or can you do already do this on the full version?

i think that's Microsoft saying it should work but we aint testing it   We will leave it to the consumer!!!  as normal.  and I have always used Microsoft so it does not surprise me   it wont work with anything else either  so lets not waist any more time  pity though your software looks good

Grahame, thank you for the kind words! Sorry that was not able to help :(

Ade, you can use the preview mode 1:1 which shows quite zoomed image and is very handy for focusing. In the latest version there is new preview mode "1:1 Scroll" where you can choose the image area that is most interesting. Usually I use bright star (most of the times one of the suggested alignment stars) to focus with my Bahtinov mask in cooperation with LiveView, but after focusing is made, one 5-10s exposure shows spectacular spikes. Please let me know if you experienced problems.

Ivo

Thanks Ivo, I will give that a try later tonight, just been using the 'normal' preview earlier, didnt realise there was other options in there, havent had much opportunity to delve deeper into this programe yet, but it is certainly ticking most of the boxes so far!

Thanks for a great tool, I'll sign up for the full version soon, astro budget is a bit depleted at the moment

Ade, there is no hurry! Take the needed time to be sure that APT is handy for you. Then you can decide if want to use in long term and to support or not the efforts to make it better :)

The hosting company is total crap :( Do not host on webhost4life.com unless you want to shorten your life significantly... Trying to resolve the problem with them and meanwhile am preparing a new hosting to move the site by the end of the week.

I apologize for the inconvenience!
