I was able to do some imaging last night. The skies above Macclesfield cleared shortly before 9pm. I eventually went to bed at 2am after grabbing data for M31 and the ET cluster.

This is my first real attempt to capture M31. I used my little William Optics Zenith Star 66SD and modded Canon 1000D. The image here is the result of 1 hours 55 minutes, in 5 minute subs. I used darks this time, that I grabbed before, and after my imaging session.

I think this has made a huge difference. I stacked the image's in DSS and IP in CS2. I have had to crop the final image, because I don't have a flattener for my telescope. This is something I need to address in the near future. The wide field looks rubbish

I've tried to process the image to the best of my ability. It is still a learning curve. However I think that I am getting better. Especially when it comes to adding colour to my DSLR images.

Yep - def. getting better processing, Paul...

The '66 does have a horrendous problem with flat fielding on a large chip...

Some years ago, when I tested an Atik 4000 on the '66, I found the Baader MPCC worked pretty well - it was all I had at the time...
