M33 from Kelling
« on: 21:40:50, 17 September, 2012 »
PJShep  has suggested we start a thread for anybody wishing to display images from this year's Kelling Starparty.

This years event, was blessed with three FULL night's of cloud free M6+ skies  :big_clap: :big_clap: :big_clap: Sunday was promising but, eventually the cloud rolled in at 10pm.

It really was a superb weekend. And. It was my first one. And I will be back

To kick things off. Here's the first of three dSLR images.

M33. Taken on a windy Thursday night, through my William Optics Zenith Star 66SD with 5 minute subs through magnitude 6.2 skies.

That's a cracking image Paul... I do like the fov one gets from the 66 but it really needs a field flattener as that coma is mega !

Good to hear you had great skies at Kelling... had three days of cloud here (surprise, surprise).

Look forward to seeing more...

S.

The FF will have to wait I'm afraid Simon. The coma is bad isn't it. How ever. I also think it was because I was shooting through a gale.

We had two windy night's whilst I was there, then it calmed down on Saturday, and the skies were magnificent.

And. Do you know what I found?

NGC7293. In both my 7x50's and a friends 15x70's

That is a good detailed image  Paul. I am a bit puzzled as to why you have no colour?

I was hoping to meet up with you at Kelling but forgot to take people's pitch numbers with me - perhaps next time.

Hi Dave.

I must have missed so many people of various forums. I'm puzzled by lack of colour?

Deep Sky stacker setting's are PS? If you know the answer...

Apart from Dave. I like the way you avoided the question about star colour  ;)

And Dave was right. Where on Earth did that colour data go?

Here is a better, and cropped version, showing as much colour as I dare.

Thanks for pointing it out to me Dave   I still have a lot to learn.
