Bolt down the hatches!
« on: 19:16:58, 26 October, 2013 »
The met office has issued an amber alert for the southern half of the UK for sunday night/monday morning, so make sure those observatory roofs are well and truly bolted down folks!

Just my luck Ade - I'm off to pick up some 8x4 ft sheets for the roof tomorrow. It'll be cheaper on the way back. I can glide..
Woe unto him ..or her..who tries to guide the LX90. Let him..or her..rejoice in a lightweight scope upon the mighty EQ6. Mind you,I'd sooner be looking through my 6"f8 while the clouds look down the 8"f4 Le marchant configuration. And there should be a constellation called 'Camelot' and I would worship it in the anticipation of a big lottery win. Maybe I'll move to the Isle of Man..damn these drug

I think that we have more per year than the US, given the size of the UK; but a lot of ours aren't seen.  We tend not to have large ones, of course !

Wow, I didn't know that Mike!  Learned something new.  :-)

Yeah, not all the US gets tornadoes much.  I have had the privilege in the past 35 years to live in almost every state designated as "Tornado Alley" lol.  As a matter of fact, the Discovery Channel had a series called Storm Chasers I think and most of those folks were based around here in Nebraska and Iowa.

I sure know how to pick my homesteads.  ;-)

Hopefully it's not blowing too hard over there.  Crossing fingers.

Glad you guys are ok, saw some pics of the storm at lunch time, wow!  Definitely sounds like a hurricane went through.  Saw some pics of waves breaking against the seawals, now those were some impressive waves too!
