Where has our British Winter gone?
« on: 20:17:34, 13 January, 2014 »
I thought I would never hear myself saying this.
But I wish for a long cold snap with plenty of cold polar air and a hard frost and clear skies  :(

I have just set up my little grab and go for some Moon and maybe Jupiter imaging. Only see nasty orrible cloud, cloud and more cloud.
"Oh wait a minute". "What is that". "Oh yes it's the M, oh bugger it's gone again".

Well there's always the rain to break the monotony of continuous cloud...

Ain't that the truth.

I don't think I can recall a spell of weather this bad for years.

If it`s of any comfort, we dont really have winter weather here in the north side of the arctic circle either...
Probably my fault for buying a snowboard.

I do think the last 2 or 3 years have lacked any prolonged clear dry spell but if you look at how the jest stream is lying, its quite unusual. Longer term forecast is for it to shift so we could be in for a decent spell last in January.

As Mr Bailey will later announce, the bad weather skirts his house and buggers off to mine. Voodoo dude!
Woe unto him ..or her..who tries to guide the LX90. Let him..or her..rejoice in a lightweight scope upon the mighty EQ6. Mind you,I'd sooner be looking through my 6"f8 while the clouds look down the 8"f4 Le marchant configuration. And there should be a constellation called 'Camelot' and I would worship it in the anticipation of a big lottery win. Maybe I'll move to the Isle of Man..damn these drug
