Lunar Challenge Competition 2014
Once again UKAI are proud to announce another competition this time the target is our closest neighbour.
UKAI has teamed up with
Altair Astro
and
Modern Astronomy
Details about the prize
1st £50 (Altair Astro) Voucher

2nd Astronomik IR Pro (742nm) filter
Courtesy of Modern Astronomy
This filter pushes the IR passband of the Baader IR pass even further into the IR. At these longer wavelengths, planetary images are less disturbed by distortions in the atmosphere. Sensitivity of most CCD cameras is still fairly high in this region so smaller scopes (>5") can benefit.

The time of year for darker skies and will be soon upon us and to get you back in the mood for imaging we are having another competition.
So dust the cobwebs away from the kit that has been idle for the summer months & get imaging the moon.
We are looking for your artistic impression of our closest neighbour. You have total freedom of your image and how you decide to process it, using your artistic skills.
It not about just about imaging the moon, it's about presentation & how you do it.
So even if your a new starter or a seasoned imager it doesn't matter. It's all about how you process it using your imagination and skills.
There is only one rule for this competition & that is that the image must contain the moon & has been imaged by yourself.
So be creative & image the moon
The competition is open to all members to the UKAI forum & only available to those with more than +15 posts.
Details of the images must include
Location
Date
Equipment used
Exposure details
Competitions Rules
1- Details of the image must include (as above)
2- Images must have been captured between the start/finish dates.
3- You need +15 posts to enter this competition.
4- A maximum of 3 images per person. (You can change you images up to the closing date)
5- Images must be uploaded to the competition page
6- All entries will be judged by the Admin/Moderators of UKAI.
7- Judges decision will be final
8- Images must not exceed 1000px & kept under 500KB
9-
Closing date EXTENDED TO 1st March 2015
10-
Please add your entries
HERE
Good Luck to all.
