I hope someone is imaging the sun...
« on: 11:14:25, 09 November, 2014 »
... as there's a HUGE, and I mean HUGE prom !

First time I've seen the sun in weeks and my kit has attracted every gremlin so I've given up trying to image it.  I hope someone is out there getting it as it's probably the biggest prom I've ever seen - my wife even went "oh, wow"... which rest assured is praise indeed !!! ;)

I was watching that huge prominence through the only gap in the clouds. If it clears this afternoon I'll have a pop at imaging it.

Wow Simon, I see what you mean, just had a look on Gong. that is a mighty fine and large prom. Unfortunately no solar for me today.

Caught the merest glimpse of it through an eyepiece (Wow!) but it had clouded over again before I had a chance to get a camera on it!

It "died" quite quickly sadly.... would have made one hell of an animation if I could have got any of my kit to work  :'(

It was at least nice to see the yellow blob in the sky again  ;)
