Clear tonight for Southern UK
« on: 13:36:48, 19 December, 2014 »
All the forecasts, sat images and even the tea leaves are strongly suggestive of a decent clear spell tonight. Could be the last one before the moon returns so fill your christmas boots and lets see some images on here tomorrow

Same here in Lincoln (for now) so I'm hoping to finally get some OIII data on my Rosette! Fingers crossed.

Good luck all :D

Looks good here as well for tonight,  But being honest I'm not sure if I want to waste my time collecting data anymore.

Shame I'm in London for work and won't get home till 8pm (and am knackered as been up since 5:15am).... it's also forecasting cloud over here by 11am.  I'm beginning to think it's time I found a new hobby.

On a plus note I've been getting some nice Geminid remnants on my radio telescope so all is not lost :)

Looks like it's going to be rubbish here in Cheshire as usual.

Not looking good around Chorley. I do have to say that the wind is absolutely biting. I normally don't feel the cold but that is a really lazy wind - goes straight through you!
Good luck to all those with clear skies being forecast.

But being honest I'm not sure if I want to waste my time collecting data anymore.

Rog

Whats up Roger? You need the clear skies tonight to confirm AT is working :D

That sounds like bad mojo Roger. Probably my last night with the RC on mount before swapping over to something a little more forgiving and suitable for the winter faves.

Strong winds and cloud here in mid-Wales.  Beginning to look forward to the appearance of the moon - something to image!

I can't do DSO imaging in this wind even if the rain does stop, I might have a prod at Jupiter with the QHY5 though. Looking at my weather records it's rained every day for the past 15 days.

I'll give that a go soon Ian.   I want to see if my current status with work makes it worth while me continuing & with me kinda struggling with the processing.   I'm not sure as the mo.

I'm imaging at the moment getting some OIII of Molette 15 to go with the Ha.

Still clear here in the midlands, but this wind is causing some guiding issues, and I haven't even started on the sprouts yet

I think I'm giving up. The clouds are zipping by at about 100 knots and it's just patch after patch ruining every sub. Also, 3 out of the 5 usb ports on my hub are no longer working :/ so i have to leave my laptop outside now, rather annoying!

I think I'll just have a fiddle with some settings then pack up for the night. Really really disappointing. Another moonless night gone to this ridiculous weather.
