Skywatcher AZ-EQ6-GT stripdown
« on: 16:06:06, 06 June, 2017 »
I recently bought a used AZ EQ6-GT mount.

I have had two HEQ5's in the past and both benefited enormously from a strip down, degrease, regrease and new bearings - as well as the belt drive mod.

The AZ EQ6 GT had a lot of backlash in RA so I figured it would benefit from the same treatment !! Not the belt mod - that's already done !

I struggled to find any useful info on the net but eventually found a very helpful guide and felt I should share it for the benefit of anyone contemplating the same task.

Its quite straightforward - the guide at the bottom of this page on my website and you can download it for future reference.
