Galileo Museum - Florence
« on: 10:05:33, 31 October, 2015 »
Tucked in amongst all the Renaissance art repositories is a fascinating collection of early timepieces, surveying and navigation instruments and telescopes as well as a huge Armillary Sphere representing the "universal machine" developed by Aristotle and perfected by Ptolemy, placing the earth at the centre of the heavens Its quite amazing to think that many of the discoveries that we now take for granted were made using such instruments.
