Catalina last night - Jan 2th - and with new camera !
« on: 12:11:07, 02 January, 2016 »
So Santa brought me a new camera and last night was first time I could try it.
It's the new cooled ASI174MC - Cool, and it sure is a cool camera  8).
Was very pleased with its noise characters and number of unwanted pixels.
Looking forward using it for more DS imaging, and planetary imaging as well.

Image info: Tamron 70-200 @ abut 190mm, 20 x 2min.
Some haze/fog, moon and Arcturus spoiled tail detail at some extent.

Negative image to show better tails

Celestron C8, C9.25" & Hyperstar, iOptron CEM60-EC, TS 80 triplet,  Coronado PST, SXV-694,  ASI120MM/ASI174MC Cool

Looking good Tapio.... as you say it's a shame it was photo-bombed by Arcturus !
