Makarian's Chain v2 from Kelling NOW WITH RGB
« on: 19:16:28, 11 April, 2016 »
I managed a load of subs on this target on the Wed night but although the sky was very clear, the wind was strong and gusty and as a consequence have not been able use them

Sat night started off cloudy and I went to bed, but at 2am heard voices so got up again and was able to image until dawn.   This is the result of 10 x 600s luminance with my Megrez 90 scope with 0.8x FR and Atik460EX mono camera. If the skies clear I intend to get the colour data from home. This was mainly processed in StarTools.

Incidentally I repeated tackling Makarian's Chain as in v1 I missed off the two galaxies at the bottom which annoyed me, and the stars are much improved in v2.
It was great to meet up with the team again, sorry you didn't make it Simon.

Very nice Dave, some nice detail in there.

You are not the only one with a lot of unusable subs from Wednesday night and I only have about a 30% use rate from last night. Saturday night was a rare gem though and that fireball!

Nice image Dave, pity about the gusts last night, we all struggled to get anything usable

That really is spectacular Dave.

And it show's us. You don't always need a big telescope to capture galaxies.

I hope the skies are that good in September!

Thanks Paul. My current plan is to get to use my C9.25 into imaging but really need an OAG first but currently funds are low so maybe by the galaxy season next year.

The weather at Kelling is usually better in the autumn than spring - fingers crossed.
