Lakeside-astro.com - focuser support
« on: 11:08:44, 26 April, 2016 »
Just want to mention Peter @ Lakeside Focusers (http://lakeside-astro.com) for his prompt & helpful support....

I acquired a spare Lakeside motor but without the external temp sensor.... he sent me a temp sensor, decoupling capacitor and even some shrink wrap tubing! Also, an email with pin outs & a couple of photos of what it all looks like as well as how to select the internal or external temperature sensor....

Always a helpful bunch, but this goes above & beyond... This is why I have been using these focusers for a number of years...

I can only second that, I have 3 Lakeside units and they all work faultlessly, Peter even provided me with a 3rd focuser Ascom driver so they all co-exist together on the obsy PC without conflict.

Are you using these units with one control box or multiple.

Rog,

I'm using multiple control boxes, the box contains the focuser configuration - step size, number of steps, last position etc. so changing it between focusers would mean cable changing and a re-config (as you cannot just input the settings) unless the focuser's on different scopes fortuitously have the same setup- mine don't.

As a follow-up...

I successfully added the temp sensor (& capacitor) & this motor now joins the others as having a working external sensor....

Thanks Peter - a star!
