Imaging on holiday kit
« on: 08:05:12, 09 June, 2016 »
My holiday imaging kit took a turn for the better this week with the arrival of a TS60ED to replace my Lightwave 60EDT, which was just too heavy and too big and had too long a focal length (not to mention it was not as well corrected as I hoped), and this new little beauty should fix all those problems. Weighs less than 2k and with a smaller size and focal length of 260mm with the reducer, I am hoping this performs for me. We shall see if the new scope clouds lift soon.

That looks a very nice bit of kit!  Not sure about getting my eye in the right position to view the through the polar scope though? I would get one of those QHY PoleMaster things I think!

Oooo very nice indeed!  I have a TS70 quad... love it!

Can you get focus of the kitchen ceiling from there?

If you look closely just above the counterweight bar, you will see a red adaptor which is exactly what you suggest - an adaptor for a PoleMaster :)

No guiding with this one. Whole point of this rig is simplicity, so short subs using the ASI1600, short focal length with TS60 + reducer so I can get away without the need for guiding.
