Well, not in my area - I've pretty much guaranteed a lovely summer in the Welsh Borders.

How ?  Simple ... buy some kit & in the run-up to delivery after waiting ages for it - have your boss send you onto another contract 200+ miles away for a month or so ...  :hurt:

I need a non Newton ring image first.      I can't believe how much AA want for a tilt adapted for the gp cam though.

Jeeez Rog... that's a veritable herd of Newtons Rings.... can't remember ever seeing them that close together and high frequency (i.e. bad !)... what have you got in the imaging train... I'm guessing they are caused by the class cover of the GP-Cam... I know it's a colour camera but have you tried the QHY5L-II to see if you get the same effect ?  I'd be speaking to Nick as my guess is that even a tilt adapter isn't going to get rid of ones that bad without compromising the focus over the field of view !

PS - image underneath is looking good though ;-)

That's intersting you say that, Si...   Rog & I were talking about this phenomenon....

Using the Colour GPCam, with or without the cover glass... and with/without a cheap x0.5 reducer.... I do not have any of these annoyances....

I am assuming that by using my 2" diagonal & the multiple connection points (scop->diag->quark->camera) I have sufficient off axis movement to negate the effect?

As I have never done this imaging before I didn't know what the NR's looked like.  I take it Si from your reaction there pretty bad.

The imaging train is   110 FLT @ f7  2" UV/IR block,  2" diag,  Quark,  GP cam.  Yes the GP cam has the Cs filter still in place.     No I haven't tried the QHY yet,  it's next on my list to do.

It's the number and how close they are that I find quite surprising Rog !  Below is what my flat looked like a couple of weeks ago.  I'm pretty sure mine is caused by a refection off the Powermate and has been progressively been getting worse over the years as I never used to get them.

Looking at yours though I'd say whatever is causing them is pretty close to the chip  ;) and removing them with flats and/or a tilt adapter is going to be a pretty tall order  :scare:

I got similar close rings with my own GPCAM, but a tilt adapter got rid of them easily.
