Solar Imaging
« on: 14:14:38, 12 July, 2016 »
Hi All,  I'm get the bleeding ump with this solar stuff  ( already )

Problems

Imaging with the mono GPcam I cannot fully clear the Newton Rings even with a tilt adapter,  everything looked ok but now I can see them again & no matter what angle I put the GPcam in their there.    even with the tilt adaptor at it's most extreme.

Imaging with the QHY5II   no newton rings ( a good thing )    everything looks lovely whilst capturing but when the AVI is transferred in to registax and the debayer matrix is on show the image is so dark I cannot see anything ( no detail on the surface )  I have tried to debayer but just get a red/green mush all over.     Still cannot see any surface detail,    TBH you cannot see anything apart from a green/red all over    SEE IMAGE

imaging with the GPcam & with a 0.5 reducer only half the chip is illuminated ????     This is probably down to the tilt of the tilt adapter but I cannot seen to get round it.

Any suggestions   Help/tips post and pre processing would be grateful....

Maybe you should try Autostakkert (there at least you can set debayer pattern - in color settings).

It's a QHY5II colour Barry

Ok, let me ask the long version of question. Why are you debayer-ing when Registax will quite happily process the video in colour?

PASS.

I'm new to this.      I assumed that you have to debayer a OSC camera unless you want a grid pattern all over it

Debayering can be done while imaging but it reduces fps some.
