New Live Stacking feature in AltairCapture - Beta
« on: 17:04:26, 29 July, 2016 »
Hi there, just to let you know we've posted up a Beta version of AltairCapture with the promised new live-stacking features.

So far it's working quite well, so please do give it a try. We need to test it on various Windows platforms. Live stacking has real-time image stabilisation/frame alignment, plus you can switch from Additive (Deepsky image amplification) and Average (NR) modes. You can record video or stills during stacking too and you can choose the number of frames to stack. Default is 10, which is quite a lot in additive mode.

This is a new feature and we're still working on it, so if any bugs are found, please post on the Altair Astro Google User Group (sticky at the top), so development team can see it, else we'll get some double-handling and confusion. It only takes a second to join with any email address.

And no I haven't finished instructions for this yet - it's still in a state of flux. :)

Have a good weekend, Nick
