Need help widh 4120x osc
« on: 22:33:00, 18 September, 2016 »
Hello everyone

Two weeks ago I purchased an Atik 4120x OSC.
I use the camera with the Takahashi Epsilon E130D F3.3 .
  My problem:
I have taken 35x600sec lights which is more than 5 hours exposure of IC
1805 the Heart Nebula.
What a disappointment there is almost nothing to see.
I stackt the lights in pixinsicht and DSS with the right bayer matrix.
What have I done wrong.

Kind regards Paul

Hi Paul and welcome to UKAI.

Is that the .tiff straight out of DSS without any processing in DSS? Flats/Bias?

Background levels are pretty high at around 14,000 ADU. Was this with a biggish moon? Light Pollution?

It may well be that 10 minutes at f/3.3 is too long for the conditions on that particular night for that particular target. Any chance of Drop Boxing a single calibrated frame?

If this was taken two weeks ago then not so big/bright moon then.
Anyway some nasty gradients in corner.
Tried to remove but far from perfect.
Like Chris asked liked to know if you used flats/bias ?
