SUMMER CLUSTERS Imaging Challenge - WINNERS ANNOUNCEMENT
« on: 08:22:38, 29 October, 2016 »

Challenge No 4 - Summer Clusters

The final round of our Imaging Challenge is now complete, and it has been a pleasure to have been part of this series of competitions.  Over the last 12 months, we have given away 4 Altair Astro GP Cameras, and made some very happy winners, and we have had some superb images entered into all four of the competitions, I would like to thank all those who have entered these challenges, without you, there would be nothing!

Anyway, on to the announcement of the finalists  of the imaging challenge for the Summer Clusters...

Winning Image

Congratulations to Pete Vasey WINNER of the Summer Clusters Imaging Challenge

The judges felt that this entry from Pete is an excellent capture with the varying star colours as this is a difficult target to get right. Its not big, its not showy, but damn is it good!
Overall the judges favourite image. Well done Pete!

Pete wins an Altair GP-CAM courtesy of our sponsor, Altair Astro*

2nd Place Image

Here Matt has produced an image with great depth and colour and superb levels of resolution right into the core.... very nicely done

Matt wins a UKAI* Prize!   8)

3rd Place Image

Great to see an image from the 'other' side of the sky, It is big, it is showy and it is good.

Mike also wins a UKAI* prize!   8)

We would like to thank our sponsor, Altair Astro for providing the GPCam for the competition prize, and again a big 'thankyou' to everyone who entered their images, as they were all of a very high standard -
well done folks!   :urock:

In case you missed any of the entries, they can all be seen here

Nice one Pete, Matt and Mike

This was a very tough one to judge, lots of great images and then hard to split the top three.

Well done guys, congratulations. They are all very good images. I can see that it must of been a very difficult task to pick an overall winner.
Well done everyone.

Huh! cool  :D thanks guys

I'd have given it to Peters shot too  looks like a string of Christmas lights!

Omega is so impressive, the skill of the imager doesn't have to be that good really to get a great shot....like a supermodel... and she's the best  :D
