Recoating mirrors
« on: 00:29:13, 03 October, 2017 »
All that fuss and bother about collimating my scope... I actually went out and used it tonight, looking at the moon I thought it seemed rather fuzzy.. took a look at the mirrors and the coatings are shot on both primary and secondary...

So.. anyone had their mirrors recoated recently and prepared to recommend a company to do it?

Hi, Ian,

The only company I know of that will do a good job are Orion Optics. I am sure there are others though.
"Whirlpool Observatory"
Losmandy G11-Gemini L4.
Celestron C9.25.
Megrez 80 ED II Triplet.
Orion OMC 140
Altair 115ED F7
Coronado PST
Atik 428EX
Atik EFW 2
Modded Canon 1000D.
IOptron Mini Tower II
CCD Images

Not had the need to use them but I hear good things about Galvoptics.

I have also used Galvoptics, albeit probably 10 years ago, but my mirrors are still good to go
