trouble with autostakkert and registax6
« on: 11:51:26, 06 November, 2017 »
Hey all.

I cannot seem to get Autostakkert and Registax working, they just seem to hang. Heres my kit and my workflow....

So I am shooting NEF raw images with a Nikon D810 which I am then cropping and converting to JPG in Photoshop. The average file size once cropped is around 150k

I have loaded nine images into registax, set align points and asked it to align the images. It sets off with "multi core alignment starting"

It goes no further, just hangs there at 0% done.

Autostakkert does much the same thing

Any ideas, even with this limited amount of information, what am I doing wrong? The images are of the moon last night if it matters..

Have you checked  that JPEG is a format supported by Autostakkert and Registax.

Pulsar Observatory; NEQ6/EQ6 wedge; HEQ5 Pro; TS Star 71 Astrograph; Takahashi FSQ 106ed; Skymax 150 Pro; Nikon D600; Canon 550D modified; Canon 5D Mk11; ZWO ASI120 MM-S; Lacerta MGEN stand alone guider.

Yes jpg are supported but it would be better to use lossless format like tiff.
But I'm not sure if problem is something else.
Maybe you could download a short video (which someone has used for stacking) just to try out.
