Every time we image with ccd camera must we take a new set of darks

If you take darks @ -20 degrees this will be fine for all images taken @ -20,  If you take images at -15 then a new set are needed at -15.   Most people with have a library of darks.  say from -5 to -25.
 If I take them I take a set for the warmer months and a set for the colder months,    twice a year

Hi Rog.

As I’m new to using CCD for imaging (have been using for guiding previously) but I’m still new to imaging full-stop, about 3 months in..., what is meant by “-15” or “-20”? I’ve seen this a lot...folks saying about taking images “at -40” etc...
At first I thought it was temperature, but presumably it isn’t, least not in the UK, Siberia maybe!

Potentially a daft question but a valid one, I’ll behind my “newbie” status on this one!

Yes we are talking about temperature,   most modern ccd cameras have set point cooling.     Setting this to the desired temp means that the CCD stays at that temperature.
