Which dehumidifier should I buy?
« on: 20:51:16, 01 December, 2017 »
Before I bought my pulsar observatory I looked at the pros and cons of using a dehumidifier and decided against it though  did get some very helpful info when I posted a thread about it on this forum. However dew is a real problem so am going to do my best to seal my obsey and try a dehumidifier so I can at least leave my simple imaging rig set up over a few promising nights .  Would something like this do the job?: http://www.dry-it-out.com/dd3-classic-dehumidifier

Thanks
Annie

Which one did you get ?  I also have a Pulsar observatory so I'll be interested to see how you get on.

Roger said "the DDI Simple is the best machine - will work whatever the temp, humidistat control, continuous drainage and will autostart if the power is interrupted".  £129.99.

Decided to buy before Christmas and received my 'DDI simple Dehumidifier' from Dry-it-Out, day after ordering, post free and it has worked admirably ever since set to 50% humidity.  I may though try and seal some of the gaps around the Pulsar which I assume will increase its efficiency.  Very happy with the service I got from Roger.

Happy New Year everyone!

I fill my dome gaps with pipe lagging when the Dehumidifier is running.  Just have to remember to take it out when I open the dome or it fly's around the garden lol.
