Cable management
« on: 13:10:58, 13 December, 2017 »
Good afternoon
can I have some advice on cable management please
I have to be fully mobile, so once everything is set up
I have cables trailing back to a laptop, trouble is, In the early hours of the morning
when you're packing away, I end up tripping over cables.
I have been looking at the eagle from primaluce lab, But the unit comes at a price,
Is there an alternative unit, or ways of reducing the amount of trailing cables?
Thanks for any advise. Dave

Dave,

Cable management  can be a real PITA  :duh: and can often lead to serious levels of OCD
On my portable rig I have 3 cables running to the mount:
1 for power (12v which then is distributed  to various parts of the rig
1 usb for a usb hub to various parts of the rig
1 dedicated usb for the camera (some people even run their camera from the hub reducing the cable count to two but, my camera plays funny buggers when connected to a hub  :duh: )

I can't remember the number of times I've 're arranged my cabling to make it better.........way more times than I've actually imaged
