Mars with new scope UK
« on: 08:31:26, 06 August, 2018 »
First image with my new Dome & Scope. Mars at 00:21 with my 12" LX200GPS at f20 working at a focal length of about 6.1 metres with Altair GPCam2 IMX224, seeing was quite poor due to its low altitude, even though it was a nearly perfect night. imaged from Kent so only about 12 degrees above the horizon.

Not bad at all, Lee particularly in view of the low altitude.  I haven't even thought about it - at my 55 deg latitude it won't get higher than 9 degrees  :(  But maybe I should have a go anyway next clear night.

Cheers,

Peter.

That really is very, very good Lee.

The planet looks so clear. It is nice to see some detail at last.
